Cultural Shot

In order to capture the Mexican/Hispanic culture i chose to take photos in Old Town San Diego. The first shot is an old pueblo kitchen, the second is a mexican skeleton and the third is a photo of three ladies making tortillas. Out of all three, my favorite is the third one because it captures the culture from the past and how it has stayed the same into the present time. I find this picture interesting because the eye is drawn to each of the ladies (not just one). They are all doing different things and each have their own story for what they are doing. I am pleased with these shots and would use the third one if i were to put it in the Balboa Park show.

fashion

for all three of these photos i wanted to show the contrast between the fashion and the background. i decided to show off the dress more by placing the model (lindsay fulton) in front of urban grungy backgrounds in an ally way. although the dress is the same in each shot i feel as though it is shown off in different ways. i am pleased with these photos and would like to keep trying to experiment with this type of photography (contrasting fashion). my favorite out of the three is the first one because of the wooden garage door and the pebble flooring. it gives it a little more of an elegant feel and is not as noticable that it was taken in an ally.
