i am pleased with my photo sheet for the most part. i think that this picture represents the strongest dance picture i took for my portfolio. while the photo is based around blacks and whites i decided to put it on a black background to make the model stand out more and to keep it simple. i then put the white box at the bottom to accent the light tones in the photo and separate the name from the contact number. i chose to use reverse colors for the lettering so it looked clean and provided contrast. the one thing i would change on the card would be the font choice because it is not as professional and serious as the photo itself. that is something i have to learn from experience and i am glad i discovered it in this project.

PORTFOLIO
my pictures are not uploading onto my blog right now for some strange reason but i will start a tumblr and that will hopefully work better for the rest of the year. while shooting my portfolio pictures i chose to use Lois Greenfield as my artist inspiration. She focuses mainly on dance portrait shots but also some regular portraits. i decided to make my portfolio represent dance and normal portraits. the way i made my work resemble hers was to use only black or white backgrounds so that the model stood out more, and i also used the strobe light in order to define specific parts of the model. i found that it is not always the shot you intend on getting that you end up using in the end. i am pleased with all my pictures but realize that i could have challenged myself more and taken more of a risk, which i intend to do when reshooting my portfolio. i am indeed pleased with the way the pictures turned out and how i edited them in a simple way but also making each shot have a certain feel to it. sorry again that they are not up here for you to see. i will show you them on monday and hopefully get them uploaded or i will start a tumblr and give you the address for it.
